Our story begins in Afghanistan where the Soviet Army used this remedy to protect soldiers from the effects of various health issues as early as in the 1980’s. Thirty years later, one of our founders was serving as an officer in a US special operations task force in a remote region of Afghanistan. Upon returning to the United States he developed an illness that was difficult for many physicians to diagnose despite his access to some of the best medical centers in the US. Realizing the potential for a parasitic cause to his illness, he sought out the well-known Dr. Leo Galland in Manhattan due to his pioneering work with the gut microbiome and parasitic infections.
Discovering a parasitic infection along with a fungal infection, Dr. Galland, MD began the work of treating these infections but also restoring a strong microbiome and good health. These infections had resulted in serious bacterial dysbiosys and persistent health problems that were not easy to reverse. At that point this doctor-patient team approached an unlikely source: a scientist who grew up in the Soviet Union. They asked him if he was aware of treatments used by his native country during their Afghanistan War. He discovered a potent siberian based probiotic - Tundrex.
Within one month of use, Tundrex had significantly facilitated the microbiome recovery. Thankful and wanting to bring this solution to as many people as possible, they brought Tundrex to market with a dedicated founding team.
